This project was created for the contest “Fantasy Mounts and Transport.” I chose a mount and designed the Giant Star-Nose Mole for the Pro category.
Giant Star-Nose Mole
The Giant Star-Nose Mole is a specially bred mole for rescue and medical operations in extreme conditions. It is used where machinery is powerless: on unstable ground, in mines, and after collapses, earthquakes, or landslides.
Its main feature is the star-shaped nose that detects micro-vibrations underground, allowing it to accurately locate trapped people. It is less sensitive to noise and vibrations than ordinary moles, well-socialized, and easily follows commands.
Its powerful forelimbs allow it to dig tunnels and move through swamps, sand, and soft soil. It is more resilient than its smaller relatives and suitable for travel and carrying equipment, though not very fast.
Most commonly used:
in mines and underground workings,
at collapse sites and natural disasters,
in swampy or sandy terrain,
during expeditions to dangerous regions.
The Giant Star-Nose Mole tunnels toward victims, determines their location, and serves as a reliable means of transport for rescuers and researchers.
